What services do you believe are most important for the ACT? A service to reduce spending by the ACT government. Amend the human rights act so that no compensation is payable due to imprisonment by a considered jury verdict. Eliminate wasteful spending on crackpot ideas that no one uses (eg Trennery Square, the park next to Commonwealth Ave bridge etc).
How can the ACT Government deliver current services more efficiently and productively or to better meet the needs of Canberrans?Start by cutting services that cost a fortune to run but only impact small numbers of people. There needs to be a benefit to the ACT community for each program run by the government. There should be a $ limit that a person can access in total across all ACT government programs to stop gaming those programs. Eg if you get public housing, then you shouldn’t be eligible for other programs or concessions.
Are there particular services that you think the ACT Government can improve?Compare the length of a Canberra tram with the length of the tram that ran through George St in Sydney the other day. The ACT spent a fortune on light rail for short and cramped. Someone has pocketed the difference, more than likely the CFMEU.
What can the ACT Government do to make Canberra even more liveable?Get rid of mobile speed cameras outside houses. Their engines continue to run while they in operation, so noise and fumes enter the houses. The government always bangs on about climate change, but they are happy to have the engines on these mobile speed cameras idling for hours on end.
