|What services do you believe are most important for the ACT?
||Health, education, public transport|
|How can the ACT Government deliver current services more efficiently and productively or to better meet the needs of Canberrans?||Don't spend money on light rail unless a proper cost-benefit analysis is conducted and light rail is found to be the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective method of public transport for the ACT.|
|Are there particular services that you think the ACT Government can improve? ||Improve bus services to get people to leave their cars at home. If you live within walking distance of an interchange you get a good service. If you don't, it is far more time consuming to take the bus than your car. Use minibuses to bring people from their suburb to an interchange and run an on-demand service instead of running large empty buses through every suburb at infrequent times. Or make taxis a proper, integrated part of the public transport system by subsidising them to transport people who live a distance from the interchanges. Using taxis would reduce the need for car parks and would decrease income stress as less people would have to buy cars.|
|What can the ACT Government do to make Canberra even more liveable?||If the government approves a high rise development, make the developer provide outdoor recreational space within the complex of the size needed for the number of residents expected to be living there. One of the beauties of Canberra pre high-rise was that if you looked down at a suburb from a hill, you couldn't see the houses for the trees. Within the influx of high-rise, this is no longer possible and the buildings are generally an eye-sore. They should have to be set back from the footpath far enough to allow for trees and gardens so the streetscape is more pleasant.|
