What services do you believe are most important for the Territory? The ACT Government should concentrate its work on delivering a sustainable future in which residents and visitors can survive and thrive. I have recently outlines a vision and key strategies and actions for building a sustainable, thriving and healthy future for Canberra that no longer damages our climate yet deals with the changing climate that is the consequence of damage already done. The recommendations I have made are some of the actions needed to allow Canberra to flourish and demonstrate its leadership. Details are at http://bit.ly/2Q6COyQ
How can the Government deliver current services more efficiently or in ways that better meet the needs of our community?

See the recommendations in my submission on the strategy to zero net emissions, at http://bit.ly/2Q6COyQ
In particular:

- Ensure that all ACT Budget, funding and development proposals are required to show how the proposal contributes to reaching Zero Net Emissions.

- Ensure that Budget planning (from 2018) and expenditure (from 2019) for transport has as its main objectives reducing emissions from transport to zero as a matter of urgency while helping to deliver the overarching vision for Canberra

By implementing together (unless specified otherwise) the actions I have recommended, we can become ‘Cool Canberra’, in every sense of the word ‘cool’: a really innovative, comfortable, welcoming and resilient place to live and work in an increasingly warm, arid and extreme climate.

Are there particular services that you think the Government should stop delivering or should deliver in a different way?

See the recommendations in my submission on the strategy to zero net emissions, at http://bit.ly/2Q6COyQ
In particular:

Stop:
- advertising and promoting gas and gas appliances
- considering and pursuing waste and biogas as energy sources for the longer term (work instead to stop waste and biogas being produced in the first place)
- pursuing hydrogen as a source of energy

Require ACT Government rangers to:
(a) cease removing leaves at sides of community lane way connector paths, particularly in autumn and winter, and instead simply ensure that path pavements and gutters are clear; and
(b) spread onto the path verges any mulch and soil gathered from path pavements.

What new ideas, services or programs should the Government consider to meet emerging or evolving community needs?See the recommendations in my submission on the strategy to zero net emissions, at http://bit.ly/2Q6COyQ
